branding

In branding, we tend to focus on all the visual aspects of a brand. The logo has to represent the meaning, the name shall be easy to remember, color palettes shall create the vibe and there is more. We choose our fonts, and we actually brand our content. We are in a desperate attempt to create the right perspective in the prospective buyer’s mind.

Are we, or are we not?

Branding is a result, it is a reputation, that you created in your prospect’s head through the raw materials you threw at them. I mean, your logo, your font selection, color palettes, and the overall look and feel. With this, the person viewing is going to make a perception of your brand. That perception is branding. That is the result.

It’s not a single brand that you make. In reality, millions of brands are created in your prospect’s head. As long as they result in a positive gesture, I guess it’s good, for you and for me.

That was the purpose basically!

Marty Neumeier’s explanation in the futur’s 4-minute video made a lot of sense to me. That is on which this article is based.
